Choosing the right dishwasher
Choosing a dishwasher for your home doesn’t need to be complicated if you consider these factors - Types, Place Settings and Loading Flexibility.
Installation
Before installing a dishwasher, check that your kitchen has the following:
- ¾ inch water inlet
- drainage outlet
- an electrical point
All Bosch dishwashers come with an AquaStop hose. If you’re installing the dishwasher within the cabinet, the hose has to go through the cabinet through a cut out of 100mm by 50mm.
Yes, this is possible with an additional Y joint splitter, which can be purchased separately via any hardware store.
Only the free-standing compact dishwasher can be stacked on top of the washing machine.
Usage and Maintenance
We recommend using Finish tablets for regular dishwashing and Finish Rinse Aid for added shine and protection. These products and more dishwasher maintenance products can be purchased through our Bosch e-Store
Plastics should be placed in the upper tray where heat is less intense, while cups, bowls and bottles belong in the bottom tray. Cutlery and other tiny items should go in the cutlery box and glasses are generally safe in the dishwasher.
Wood – Wooden items like cutting boards or handles can swell or warp. They might even crack under high temperatures in the dishwasher.
Non-stick pots and pans – Many pans are now dishwasher-safe. However, some non-stick pots and pans can still lose their non-stick ability due to high temperature washing in the dishwasher.
Silver – Unless your silverware is made from 925 silver, silverware should not be put into the dishwasher as ugly black marks can start to appear.
Gold – Ornate gold detailing is delicate and can be washed away in the dishwasher despite some of these dishware being labeled as “dishwasher-safe”.
