Heat Pump, Condenser and Washer Dryers — What’s the Difference?

Heat pump and condenser dryers are great options for homeowners who already have a washing machine at home. Heat pump dryers reheat circulating air in the drying cycle, while condenser dryers collect humidity during the drying process in a water compartment that has to be emptied after each load. Between the two models, heat pump dryers are more energy efficient and provide greater convenience. A washer dryer combines washing and drying function into one handy appliance at a lower load capacity.

Enjoy Freshly Dried Laundry, No Matter the Weather

We’ve all been there — hanging washed laundry out to dry, only to have it rained on with a turn of the weather. With a Bosch heat pump dryer, you can now have peace of mind and get laundry done in a jiffy — without having to worry about rain.

No Space? No Problem

Bosch heat pump dryers do not require an exhaust hose to be installed. That means you get to have every flexibility in deciding where would be the right place for you to install a dryer at home.

FAQs

We’ve compiled a list of Frequently Asked Questions to get you started.

How much laundry should I put in my dryer?

Our dryers hold between 7 kg and 9 kg of laundry. You can determine the right capacity based on your household size and the type of items you dry.

Are dryers noisy?

Dryers generally emit less noise than other large home appliances, such as washing machines. If your dryer is placed in the basement, the noise level is likely of secondary importance. But a quiet clothes dryer makes sense if your appliance is located in or near your living space. The Bosch heat pump dryer emits between 62 to 65 decibels, about the equivalent of low background music.

How fast do dryers take to dry each load?

Dryers are designed to dry clothing as quickly as possible no matter the drying programme. Many of our dryers, including the heat pump dryer, also come with our innovative AutoDry feature, which adjusts the programme time, so your clothes come out just as dry as you want.

Can a Heat Pump Dryer overheat a room?

Heat-pump clothes dryers are more energy-efficient, and they offer other benefits, too. They work without heating the clothes or venting warm, humid exhaust air to the outdoors, as traditional dryers do. Instead, they use air-conditioner technology to extract water from clothes as they tumble at room-temperature air. There is no exhaust air, just extracted water, which can be plumbed to drain automatically into the same pipe where the washer drains.
