Beat grime for better grub.

Is oven cleaning always on your back burner? Cleaning spills and splashes prevents them getting baked on or becoming a fire hazard. A spotless oven is also a more energy efficient oven because it can distribute heat more evenly. And no one wants today’s cake to have a whiff of last night’s curry about it.

Less drudgery and oven scrubbery.

Whether you have an oven with a self-cleaning function or not, scouring isn’t good for you or your appliance. With our tailor-made Bosch cleaning products, cleaning your oven by hand is much easier than you thought.

Don’t let carbon to leave a footprint in your oven. With our help in cleaning your appliance, you can save energy – the electrical kind and yours. We don’t recommend ordinary household detergents because they aren’t designed to break down oils or remove burnt residues. Instead apply one of our Bosch cleaning gels to any hard crusty deposits once your oven has cooled. For everyday cleaning, use the spray and let it sit for a minimum of 10 minutes, and for tougher stains, use the gel with the brush and leave it for at least 2 hours. Both stick well to the oven cavity and walls, and as they are odorless, you will not inhale toxic aerosols. When the time’s up, simply wipe away the gunk with a sponge or soft cloth, rinse with water and polish dry. Job done!

Many a meal? Time to clean the seal.

What’s the deal with the door seal? It’s important to ensuring the door closes tightly so that heat doesn’t escape, resulting in undercooked food and wasted energy. When there’s grease on the seal, it’s less effective and you should follow these steps to clean it:

1.Check the oven is turned off and cold.

2.Pour washing-up liquid into a bowl or jug and fill it with warm water.

3.Dip a clean cloth into the soapy water and clean the door seal with the cloth.

4.Use a dry cloth to remove any excess moisture.

5.Check the seal is still securely in place.

No more messing around with oven cleaning.

Knowing that a clean oven makes for clean plates – and a clean conscience – doesn’t make scrubbing more fun. That’s why we’ve put together tips for getting maximum cleaning gain with minimum pain. For starters, here’s how to avoid splashes and spills in the first place.

Cover stories.

As the saying goes, prevention is better than cure. If you’re cooking something that might splatter in the oven, use a lid to cover the food. This way, your oven interior will stay cleaner.

An opened oven bag reveals a delicious piece of salmon on a bed of vegetables.

Now cleaning is in the bag.

Roasting bags not only allow the heat to circulate around the meat, cooking it evenly while retaining moisture, they also lock food and grease away. What’s more, they’ll save you time twice over – reducing the cooking and oven cleaning duration.

Two baking trays sit alongside each another – one with stuffed roasted peppers, the other with chopped roasted veg.

It’s a picnic with non-stick.

Once on the tray it’s there to stay? Not with our easy-to-clean baking trays. Thanks to their non-stick coating, it’s not necessary to grease the tray or use parchment paper. Everything comes off cleanly and then you can pop them in the dishwasher or sink to get them spotless.

Can’t tell a cake from a veggie bake through your oven door? It’s definitely time to clean off the grease. To make the job easier, the door on many of our models can be removed from its hinges. You can check your manual to find out if yours is one of them. Follow the instructions to remove the glass and place it on towels spread on the floor so it won’t get scratched or damaged.

We recommend spraying the glass with our degreaser, which is extremely tough on grime. Leave it to work for 5-10 minutes, then wipe away with a damp cloth.

Steel the show.

There’s nothing like the sleek lustre of stainless steel. To keep it looking its best, use our stainless steel conditioning pack and follow these simple steps.

1.Check that the oven is turned off and cold.

2.Sprinkle the stainless steel cleaning powder on a wet cloth and wipe the surface.

3.Use a damp, clean cloth to wipe away the powder residue and a dry cloth to remove any moisture.

4.Gently wipe the conditioning cloth onto the stainless steel surface and use kitchen paper to remove any residual oil and polish.

Shining examples.

With our microfibre e-cloths, you can give your kitchen real polish. And they do it with nothing more than water. Since there’s no need for any harsh chemicals, these cloths are perfect for people with allergies or sensitivities. Pick up the green cloth to shine stainless steel and granite; or go with the blue one for glass and ceramic surfaces. Best of all, you can machine wash and re-use them up to 300 times.

Does your oven clean itself?

Half an oven interior with grease splashes, compared to the spotlessly clean results after pyrolysis.

Incinerate what didn’t land on your plate.

With the pyrolytic self-cleaning function, oven grime feels the burn instead of your arm muscles. At temperatures of 480°C, burnt-on grease and food residues are incinerated and all you have to do is wipe away a sprinkling of ash once the appliance is cool again. You can deep clean your oven in this way every 6–12 months by following these simple steps:

1.Some of our Series 8 trays and rails are pyrolysis-proof and can be left in the oven. If not, they should be removed.

2.Choose one of the three programmes most suited to the level of soiling in your oven and press “Start”.

3.Wipe and ash from the base of the oven with a damp cloth.

Beat cleaning frustration with oxidation.

Ovens with EcoClean have wonder walls. A special coating of microfine ceramic particles absorbs grease splatters and breaks them down using oxidation, while your oven cooks your dishes. What’s more, the direct coating regenerates every time you heat the oven for the duration of its service life. If there’s been an especially big or messy spill, simply run the EcoClean Direct programme. Depending on which surfaces have the coating, you may only need to wipe the door glass and oven base. To protect this special coating keep the following mind:

  • Avoid harsh chemicals and only use recommended detergents and utensils.
  • Never use abrasive sponges on ovens with the EcoClean function, as this can damage the coating.
