Defrosting your freezer

Defrosting your freezer with tips from Bosch Home Appliances specialists.

To defrost your freezer, first turn the appliance off.
Ensure that there is no electrical current by unplugging the appliance or turning it off at the fuse.

Please store the freezer draws in a cool place with the food inside. If you have an ice pack, place it on top of the food.

It is best to open the water outflow with a shallow dish placed underneath it, in order to collect the defrosted water.
To speed up the defrosting process, place two pots of hot water on trivets inside your appliance while defrosting it.

After defrosting, please empty out the collected defrosted water. Wipe up any residual defrosted water at the bottom of the freezer compartment using a sponge. Close the water outlet again.

Once you have defrosted your freezer, you can reconnect your appliance and turn it back on. By the way, have you checked whether you have a no frost appliance? They do not need to be defrosted!
